Elegy Poem

Leaving for the throne by Galaxy Pham

When I looked back, you were no more
For you have moved away
Far away from me
Far from reachable shores

I can still feel your presence
As strong as the winds of The Perfect Strom
At night, when the lonely sky
And cold sea mourns

For you have flown away from me
Like a black crow
But I know you are watching over me
On your golden throne

I hate myself for not letting you go
Even though you’ve left
Leaving me all alone
Alone in this empty and dark place we once called our home.

In that home, that we once called our haven,
became our hell
A place of torture and pain
driven by one’s ambition

Your dreams, though bigger than mine
became your one and only love
leaving me behind
for your golden throne

Every now and then I’d ask
How things would have been
If you were to have stayed
and had not thrown away
all that we once were

But then again, you would get to live your dreams
And I wouldn’t be able to see you on my screen
Even if you’ve flown away,
You are still here with me everyday
Behind the frame
